Melissa

Hip hop and krump dance

A dancer since her early childhood, Melissa began her training with jazz dance and rhythmic gymnastics. At the age of thirteen, she was spotted by several dancers and choreographers in France, who introduced her to urban dance, hip hop and street dance. She then went on to train with one of the most important urban dance teachers, Afid Zekhnini. Her talent soon propelled her into an international career as a guest of several prestigious European dance companies. Her spectacular virtuosity on stage, her unbelievable charisma and her boundless generosity allow her to stand out in the world of contemporary dance.

In 2006, Melissa moved to Paris and began working with several choreographers in the French contemporary scene. In 2008, she discovered the krump movement which allowed her to deploy all her energy and passion. Very quickly, she won several international prizes in krump and hip-hop dance competitions. She decided to launch the Madrootz Collective - a group of European krump pioneers - and created several projects and choreographic events with famous European and American dancers and choreographers. Over the years, Melissa has also been involved in many social and charity projects, mixing dance with human values that are dear to her. Among her closest collaborators is the dancer and choreographer Grichka, with whom she will collaborate as a hip hop dancer for Geneva Camerata's new project Revolta.
