Aramis Monroy
Aramis Monroy
Between classical tradition, improvisation, and contemporary live music, Aramis Monroy is a Franco-Mexican violinist whose playing is both free, vibrant, and electric. He began studying the violin at the age of five before continuing his training at the Conservatoire Hector Berlioz in Paris. A graduate of the CRR de Paris, he went on to study at Pôle Sup’93 in the class of Ann-Estelle Medouze, principal soloist of the Orchestre National d’Île-de-France, and later refined his artistry at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris with Jean-Marc Phillips-Varjabédian, a member of the Trio Wanderer.
Throughout his career, Aramis has performed as a tutti player, section leader, and soloist with leading ensembles such as the Orchestre de Paris, Geneva Camerata, Orchestre National d’Île-de-France, Les Siècles, Orchestre National de Bretagne, and the Opéra National de Lorraine. Driven by a boundless musical curiosity, he also plays drums, guitar, and piano, and is actively involved in projects spanning a wide range of styles. He is notably a violinist with El Mariachi Mezcal (Mexican music) and singer Nabila Dali (Berber-Celtic repertoire), a pianist and violinist for Cathy Cardie (French chanson), as well as the drummer for Ptit Rockeur Trio (rock’n’roll), La Famiglia Rubinetti (klezmer), and Los Malditos Orchestra (cumbia).
In 2025, he released his debut album with Trio Escualo, a project exploring Latin American music from past to present, at the crossroads of classical, folk traditions, and improvisation.
